The German delegate of the ILO talked about its framework for a migrant plan and how they plan to have more migrants to have more equity with citizens in the country.

During the International Labour Organisation meeting on migrant workers, it is fascinating to note that many countries have come up with various ways to go about their labour protection laws. Many delegates of other countries have explicitly said that the problem was in unsafe working environments and a lack of social protection against employers. These details globally threaten the welfare, stability and debts in the labour centres, as well as the international economy.

If you had not known, immigrants around the world have been abused or in unsafe work environments where they could not be able to talk about the abuse they have been receiving. Because of this, many employees are underpaid and do not have financial stability. This is also very famously shown in sweatshop places. China has come up with a proposal to prevent passport confiscation and strengthen inspections, leading to full transparency with countries. This will prevent migrant workers’ personal data from being leaked and provide them with protection. Not only that, to ensure that this does not happen, China has cross-referenced that there should also be an analysis on their resumes to see whether or not this migrant wants to come to work for their country to improve productivity or for a green card.

Attached above is the current state of Global Workers’ rights, which shows that most countries actually have no guarantee of worker rights. And this needs to be said.

Germany during these times has made it an important note to say that all the delegates have to work together to come up with a finite solution to the problem. Not only that, they plan to have more discussions to talk about a reformed strategy. Germany has allied with Luxembourg to come up with new labour policies to discuss. He also talked about how migrant workers should be allowed to join the Trade Union, funded by the ILO and believes that it will be a long-term investment for a dangerous situation.

Migrant workers will join the workers' union and could be able to seek assistance from abuse of power. This will allow them to work in safer working environments and can overall improve their efficiency as they would be working under the Trade Union, which spearheaded the Workers’ Protection Amendment (2023). Germany has also approved of the UK's plan to allow the wealthier countries to fund facilities to train unemployed workers' basic skills to obtain a job. With more people working towards high-entry jobs, this can lower the rate of unemployment, as Germany of present is facing the negative impact of unemployment. This is due to the fact that many jobs are high-entry jobs, as said by Alexander Dobrindt during the German Bundestag Press conference. This would allow more German citizens and migrants to be more qualified for jobs.

As shown by the graph, open job positions have decreased, causing the competition for these jobs to be higher.

Germany has also answered directly to the agency about how they plan to give more access to people who lack jobs. They are planning to have more big companies come to Germany. Because there is then, widened access to jobs. This may reduce the rate of unemployment as there would be more sales jobs. He also said that this may reduce the gender inequality in workers’ rights. Women earn 16% less than men.

As shown by this gap, the gender pay gap has not been bridged, while it has shown some insignificant wealth decrease.

The agency would love to believe that this would help the unemployment rates, as they have sparked a huge debate. It also brings back the debate with the Bundestag, as the Bundestag has been discussing how to decrease the rate of unemployment as part of the debate on workers’ rights. By following Germany’s labour rights policies, this could lead to better connectivity for jobs within the country. This would increase the accessibility of job opportunities, which could lead to more efficient and productive work in the country. In conclusion, the conference shed more light on the improved labour laws and the talks someone had to put on the alternative and more effective ways to mitigate the labour laws. This will lead to improved conditions for working. It would also hopefully bring in more people who are keen to help out with this policy. Germany hopes to see more improvements with this framework.
